The initial football state rankings came out by the AJC, and features a handful of local football programs among the state’s best.

Rabun County topped all with a #1 ranking in Class 2A, while the Jefferson Dragons earned a #2 state ranking in Class 4A. Commerce debuts at #10 in Class 1A Public, and Dawson County at #10 in 3A.

Bubble teams include White County and Union, who have a shot to enter the rankings if they get off to quick starts to the 2020 season.
