The volleyball program at Dawson County took the next step in 2019, advancing to its first-ever Elite 8. That could just be the tip of the iceberg in Dawsonville.

“Following up on our Elite 8 run from 2019,  we are eager to continue with our success,” states head coach Tonya Porter. “We expect to be a strong contender in a very tough Area 7-AAA and earn our fourth consecutive state playoff bid.”

What a special year it was for Dawson. School record in wins (26), best finish in region (runner-up), first-ever Elite 8, and first-ever state ranking (#8). More to come in 2020.

Key Returning Players: Haylie Selzer, Olivia Walls

A lot will ride on Haylie Selzer and Olivia Walls as seniors to help Dawson repeat its success in region 7-AAA and at state.

Strengths & Areas of Focus

Strengths: More experienced across all positions, and much deeper in talent at all positions. Also, the great attitude and work ethic.

Focusing On: Must become better defensively and improve on serve-receive.
