The Jefferson Dragons are back in the Final Four for the first time since 2010. That said, here is a look at their Semifinals matchup, to be played on Saturday in Valdosta.

The Dragons (21-7) have been ridiculously good as of late. These guys last walked off the court as losers on January 3 in a heart-breaking loss to Hart County by 3 points. Since then – 12 straight wins. That includes a 17-point win over Hart County. That also includes a win in the Region 8-AAA Championship game. That also includes playoff wins over Adairsville by 29 points, a win over Pierce County by 8 points in the Sweet 16, and a 10-point win over Monroe in the Quarterfinals. We always talk about peaking at the right time, and that’s just what this group is doing.

What makes things even better for the Dragons is their lethal attack. Go ahead and double up on star player Jacob Radaker. That leaves someone else like Daniel Parker, Owen Parker, Malaki Starks, Creed Dunbar, or [insert name here]. The point being, there are far too many weapons for Jefferson.

Now about Central-Macon. The Chargers (23-7) are the #2-seed from 4-AAA, and 3 of their losses came against region champs Westside, who the Chargers lost to in overtime once, by six points in another, and in the region title game in still another contest. Macon scores 69.7 points per game, so the offense is intense. The defense can be smothering, allowing just 51.5 per contest. For comparison sake, Jefferson also scores 69.8 per game (0.1 more), and allows 58.7. Needless to say, this is a great matchup that is sure to be a great game.
