Dawson County standout Mariah Benson (8,195) led all vote-getters for the Fan Vote Player of the Week. She edged Towns’ Vanessa Floyd (6,338) as the pair tallied most of the 23,513 votes overall. BLITZ then picked Jefferson’s Livi Blackstock as Co-POW.

Dawson County junior Mariah Benson earns her first-ever Player of the Week award after helping the #6-ranked Lady Tigers to a big win last week. In the effort, the forward tallied a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds.
The Lady Tigers are 11-6 overall and 5-1 in Region 7-AAA. Benson holds the distinction as the 100th Dawson County athlete to win a Player of the Week award (most among all schools we cover) since the ’09-10 year.

LIVI BLACKSTOCK (BLITZ PICK)
Junior all-state talent Livi Blackstock earns her long-awaited first Player of the Week award. The UNG commit is enjoying her best year yet for the #2-ranked Lady Dragons. Last week against Hart County on the road, the guard led the team to a win with 18 points.
Jefferson is 15-3 overall and a flawless 6-0 in region play.
