It was an intense vote, but Pat Jackson (Lumpkin) took the Fan Vote for Basketball Player of the Week after logging 6,319 votes of the total 15,057. Runner-Up Kolby Moss (Towns) was then named BLITZ Pick Player of the Week, and logged a crazy 5,883 votes. BLITZ also named a third player (a rarity), Dakota Orr (Banks) Player of the Week.

Senior Patrick (Pat) Jackson earned his second-ever Player of the Week honors after a week that saw him drop 47 total points across two games. He scored 24 in a road region win at Fannin last week, and followed it up with 23 points on the road at GAC. He also averaged 5 rebounds per game last week.

KOLBY MOSS (BLITZ PICK)

We just couldn’t pass up this opportunity to recognize Moss in his outstanding effort in a game against Commerce recently. In that game, the junior scored 36 points and hauled in 11 boards as part of a monster double-double, and added 4 assists.

He promptly went 17-for-22 at the charity stripe in what was a career game for the forward, who has propelled the Indians to a 4-2 start to the season.

DAKOTA ORR (BLITZ PICK)

Dakota Orr becomes now the third Orr brother to win a Player of the Week award, following Zac Orr and then Dylan (a two-time winner and one-time Player of the Year). The junior Dakota in 2 games last week averaged 12 points, 8 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, and 1.5 steals per contest, as well as 1.5 assists for the undefeated Leopards.
