Matchups for HOME games among local programs are listed first

#3 Jefferson vs Jackson County

Jefferson, fresh off winning the 8-AAA region title, will play its final regular season game (they have a last week bye). Look for many guys to get some final reps, and the starters will likely not play the whole game. This will still be a relatively easy win. WE PICK JEFFERSON

Habersham Central vs Winder-Barrow

This is a MUST MUST MUST win for Habersham Central. There’s no other way to make the playoffs than to win out. That starts with this home game against Winder and next week’s finale on the road at Apalachee. WE PICK HABERSHAM

Banks County vs Monticello

Banks is in a MUST win situation here against Monticello. Take care of this one first, and then a must-win next week at Elbert will determine the fate of the Leopards. For this one, WE PICK BANKS

Towns County vs Lakeview

This might be Towns County’s best shot at the first win of the season. Still, Lakeview has a win over Riverside, who beat Towns earlier this season. If we go off that, WE PICK LAKEVIEW

#2 Rabun County @ Oglethorpe

The Cats were led by Gunner Stockton’s 6 touchdowns in a quarter and a half last week against Social Circle. Next up is Oglethorpe. The long bus ride will be well worth it in what should be a cruiser for Rabun. WE PICK RABUN

#6 Commerce @ Riverside

The Tigers travel to Riverside in what should be a quick contest. WE PICK COMMERCE

#7 Union County @ Social Circle

Union will make a visit to Social Circle, and look for the Panthers to rest some starters late in getting ready for next week’s epic showdown against Rabun for all the marbles. WE PICK UNION

#10 Dawson County @ Cherokee Bluff

Dawson County’s Zach Holtzclaw is having a monster sophomore season, and Jaden Gibson (freshman) is really making a name for himself. The Tigers should claw through Cherokee Bluff. WE PICK DAWSON

White County @ Chestatee

With both teams out of the playoff picture now, this game has no real implications. Still, it usually is an entertaining matchup. Look for J Ben Haynes to continue to put up solid numbers through the air and on the ground. WE PICK WHITE

Stephens County @ Madison County

The Indians MUST win either this one or the finale against St. Pius. This is the better shot for them. WE PICK MADISON

Lumpkin County @ Fannin County

Lumpkin travels to Fannin with a chance to play spoiler. However, that’s a long ride to be sitting on a bus, and Fannin is a solid bunch. WE PICK FANNIN
