Rabun County dominated, Union County lost even though it won (major injury to a key player), and Jefferson continued its uptick. Commerce was idle, and Dawson came from behind. All told, the top 5 stayed the course. Habersham and White fell to worthy opponents, Stephens and Lumpkin were idle, while Banks, and Towns fell hard.

#1 RABUN COUNTY WILDCATS
LAST RANKING: #1
RECORD: 6-0 (3-0)
WEEK 7: W 52-10 vs Banks County
NEXT: Bye
Rabun County used Gunner Stockton’s arm and legs in a clobbering of Banks, as the Cats led 45-3 at the break. Gunner and first string were out early in the 3rd, as Rabun earned its third 6-0 start in the last 4 years.

#2 JEFFERSON DRAGONS
LAST RANKING: #3
RECORD: 4-1 (2-0)
WEEK 7: W 33-0 vs Franklin County
NEXT: @ #6 Hart County
Jefferson has now outscored opponents 206-20 in the 4-game win streak. The Dragons are looking like a complete team now, and hopefully will not peak until late November. These guys are scary good, and Malaki Starks (sophomore) is finally getting the much-deserved recruiting action from SEC programs.
#3 UNION COUNTY PANTHERS
LAST RANKING: #2
RECORD: 6-0 (3-0)
WEEK 7: W 35-14 vs Elbert County
NEXT: Bye
Kyle Morlock might be done for the season. He had a major ankle injury on the first play of the Elbert game. Union used four turnovers in the fourth to grab the win, but it wasn’t pretty. The next major test will now be the season finale against Rabun, so the unbeaten Panthers should be good until then. There is a lot to be figured out if Morlock is out for the rest of the year, and the defense, while taking a step forward against Elbert, still has to iron out some kinks.

#4 DAWSON COUNTY TIGERS
LAST RANKING: #5
RECORD: 5-1 (2-0)
WEEK 7: W 52-34 vs East Hall
NEXT: vs #3 GAC
The Tigers had to fight hard for a win over a solid East Hall offense. The result was their first 50-point game of 2019 and fourth since last year.
#5 COMMERCE TIGERS
LAST RANKING: #4
RECORD: 4-1 (2-0)
WEEK 7: Bye
NEXT: @ Lakeview
The Tigers got a well-earned bye to rest up for Lakeview in Week 8. Shouldn’t be too difficult for Commerce, who is rolling at the moment.

#6 HABERSHAM CENTRAL RAIDERS
LAST RANKING: #6
RECORD: 3-3 (0-1)
WEEK 7: L 22-42 vs #3 Lanier
NEXT: @ Gainesville
The Raiders snapped their win streak with a hard loss to Lanier, although at times Habersham was very much in the game.

#7 WHITE COUNTY WARRIORS
LAST RANKING: #7
RECORD: 3-3 (0-2)
WEEK 7: L 20-45 @ #5 Flowery Branch
NEXT: Bye
White County gave another big effort in a loss to a top-five ranked team. This region is unforgivable.
#8 BANKS COUNTY LEOPARDS
LAST RANKING: #8
RECORD: 3-3 (2-1)
WEEK 7: L 10-52 @ #2 Rabun County
NEXT: Bye
Banks County suffered its first region loss of the year, albeit to the team with the 2nd-best chance according to projection models to make the state title game.

#9 STEPHENS COUNTY INDIANS
LAST RANKING: #9
RECORD: 1-5 (0-0)
WEEK 7: Bye
NEXT: Bye
The Indians got their first of two straight bye weeks to reflect on the 5-game losing streak. Hit the reset button and head into region play.

#10 LUMPKIN COUNTY INDIANS
LAST RANKING: #10
RECORD: 1-4 (0-1)
WEEK 7: Bye
NEXT: vs Cherokee Bluff
The Indians had a bye week in Week 7. The home game in Week 8 against Cherokee Bluff features former long-time Lumpkin coach Tommy Jones making his “homecoming” to Dahlonega.
#11 TOWNS COUNTY INDIANS
LAST RANKING: #11
RECORD: 0-6 (0-3)
WEEK 7: L 6-70 vs Riverside
NEXT: @ #4 Hebron Christian
The Indians still seek win number one, but Week 7 was another brutal one in Hiawassee. Unfortunately, it gets NO easier when traveling to #4 Hebron.
