Of the two local girls programs left in soccer playoff action, one survived on Tuesday night to play in the Final 4.

CLASS 3A
Jefferson Lady Dragons 4, Pike Co 2
Jefferson, ranked #7 in the state, proved that it is much better than that ranking with a decisive 4-2 win over Pike County in Tuesday’s quarterfinals game in the GHSA Class 3A bracket. The Lady Dragons (14-4-1) surrendered 2 goals (11 total on the season), but found the back of the net 4 times against a very good defense by #3-ranked Pike.
Jefferson has defeated the #2 and #3 ranked teams in the state to get to the semifinals, which will be May 14 at Lovett, who beat SE Bulloch 10-0. Jefferson’s offense now has scored 56 goals this year.

CLASS 2A
St. Vincent’s Academy 5, Union Co Lady Panthers 0
The Lady Panthers’ incredible run comes to a close in a 5-0 shutout loss to St. Vincent’s Academy. Union (12-3-1) closes the book on a season that saw it put up a ridiculous goal differential of 74-18, and were ranked as high as #6 in class 2A.
