JACOB WELCH – FAN VOTE

Jacob Welch earns his second-ever Player of the Week Award and first this season. Over the past 2 games for the playoff bound Tigers, the senior has hit .457 and driven in 4 runs.
Welch and Commerce have had a fantastic season that has Commerce looking at making yet another deep playoff run.
ALEX MCFARLANE – BLITZ PICK

When the Raiders needed him the most, highly-recruited Alex McFarlane stepped up in a major way. Habersham was facing a third straight year of heartbreak, dropping six in a row in a playoff push. Needing just one win to seal a spot, Hab Central turned to its senior pitcher.
He more than answered the call. McFarlane dominated with a 7-inning, complete game, shutout win over Lanier. The Raiders won 3-0 despite being out-hit by two. McFarlane struck out six batters and worked out of minimal trouble, and led at the plate with a pair of doubles. He had two of the five hits for Habersham, and scored two of the runs.
Overall in the past 3 games, he hit .333 with a homer, RBI, 2 doubles, a triple, 3 runs scored, 2 walks, and a stolen base. That’s doing it all. This is his first Player of the Week Award.
