Boys soccer has included some great play by a good number of our local teams. Check out where they stack up as the regular season comes to a close.

#1 JEFFERSON DRAGONS
RECORD: 13-2 (6-0)
PREVIOUS RANKING: #1
The Dragons have now won 7 in a row and peaking at the perfect time. The last time this group walked off the field without a win was March 8. The defense just pitched its 9th shutout!
PLAYOFFS: The region title and #1 seed are locked! How deep will they go in 2019?
#2 HABERSHAM CENTRAL RAIDERS
RECORD: 12-3-2 (8-2)
PREVIOUS RANKING: #2
Habersham is now riding a 9-game win streak going back to March 15. It’s included some nail-biters, such as 7 of those 9 coming in 1-goal wins. The regular season is over, and the Raiders are looking VERY GOOD!
PLAYOFFS: It’s for sure the Raiders will open the playoffs at home as the #2-seed in 8-6A.
#3 RABUN CO WILDCATS
RECORD: 6-2 (5-2)
PREVIOUS RANKING: #3
The Cats closed with a 6-goal performance by Tito Diaz in a 10-0 rout of Elbert County. Rabun has now won 2 in a row!
PLAYOFFS: As a #3-seed (winning head to head vs Union), Rabun will open on the road in the playoffs.
#4 UNION CO PANTHERS
RECORD: 9-4 (5-2)
PREVIOUS RANKING: #3
The Panthers are winners of 6 in a row! These guys are playing some very good soccer right now!
PLAYOFFS: They are in, and will be likely one of the toughest 4-seeds in the bracket, coming out of this stacked region.

#5 DAWSON CO TIGERS
RECORD: 4-9 (4-2)
PREVIOUS RANKING: #7
Dawson County won 2 of its last 3, but would have liked a better finish than the 5-0 loss to East Hall.
PLAYOFFS: Dawson earned a 3-seed finish at 4-2 in region. The Tigers will open on the road, but remain a seasoned and dangerous team despite the overall record.
#6 WHITE CO WARRIORS
RECORD: 4-10-1 (0-5)
PREVIOUS RANKING: #5
The Warriors had a 3-game win streak snapped mid-March, and since March 12 have gone 0-6-1. There is now one final game on the schedule.
PLAYOFFS: With a loss to Chestatee recently, White County is out of the hunt.
#7: TOWNS CO INDIANS
RECORD: 5-5 (5-0)
PREVIOUS RANKING: #6
Towns County has dropped 2 in a row by a 6-1 aggregate. With 2 games left to play, it would like to get some momentum headed into the postseason.
PLAYOFFS: Playoffs on LOCK!

#8 COMMERCE TIGERS
RECORD: 5-6 (4-2)
PREVIOUS RANKING: #8
What a nice surprise the Tigers have been this inaugural season. Not many teams opening a program are able to put together this kind of success. There are still 3 games left, so Commerce will look to finish above .500.
PLAYOFFS: Commerce has a shot with a 4-2 mark in area play to grab a playoff spot.
#9 BANKS CO LEOPARDS
RECORD: 4-12 (2-5)
PREVIOUS RANKING: #10
The Leopards have lost 4 of the last 5 overall, and still have 2 games left on the slate.
PLAYOFFS: Banks is out after going 2-5 in region play.
#10 LUMPKIN CO INDIANS
RECORD: 4-11 (1-5)
PREVIOUS RANKING: #9
The Indians grabbed a big 2-0 win over Buford, but 6 losses in a row before that were damaging for the playoff drive.
PLAYOFFS: Lumpkin is out after going 1-5 in region.

#11 STEPHENS CO INDIANS
RECORD: 1-15 (0-4)
PREVIOUS RANKING: #11
Stephens’ only win came on February 22 against Banks, but it has not won since. The losing skid has reached 12 games. The Indians would love a final win over Cherokee Bluff in the finale this week.
PLAYOFFS: The Indians are out.
