Teams were finally able to get some games in. This meant stats were compiled, and we could release a public vote for Player of the Week. After over 1,000 votes, it was determined that Aidan Berrong (572 votes) was named Player of the Week. BLITZ also chose Dawson’s Hudson Sapp for the honors.
AIDAN BERRONG

Sophomore Aidan Berrong has been pretty good this season to say the least. The shortstop tore through the first six games with a .474 average, driving in 11 runs, and scoring 7 times. He notched a double, two triples, and earned five walks. This makes Berrong’s first Player of the Week award.
HUDSON SAPP

Hudson Sapp, an Ole Miss commit for quite some time now, is enjoying a good deal of success early in his junior season. His last two games he was better than good. He hit a perfect 1.000 after going 6-for-6, drilling a grand slam homerun as part of 8 RBI, scored seven runs, and stole six bases.
He also pitched very well, going 1-0 with a spotless ERA to go with 7 strikeouts. His power was on full display, as three of his hits were of the extra-base variety (2 doubles, 1 homer), and he drew 3 walks.
Sapp’s award is his second in his career, as he won POW honors last season once as well.
