With a handful of games under our belt, let’s see where all the programs stack up with our first check-in since the Preseason Rankings.

#1 JEFFERSON DRAGONS
RECORD: 5-1
PREVIOUS RANKING: #1
The Dragons are ranked #4 in Class 3A, and for a reason. The offense is spectacular, putting 19 goals in the back of the net. The defense is equally dominant, surrendering just 3 goals so far. Jefferson is 2-0 in region play already.
#2 HABERSHAM CENTRAL RAIDERS
RECORD: 3-1-2
PREVIOUS RANKING: #3
The Raiders are getting at it good this season, including an early region win. Habersham has allowed just a tad over a goal per game, and the 13 goals scored by the offense isn’t too shabby.
#3 UNION CO PANTHERS
RECORD: 2-1
PREVIOUS RANKING: #8
The Panthers have outscored opponents 9-5 early in just three games, which includes a region win already over Banks County. Union also beat Lumpkin.

#4 WHITE CO WARRIORS
RECORD: 3-4
PREVIOUS RANKING: #5
The Warriors had a tough non-region slate so far, and allowing 18 goals isn’t ideal. The offense has generated 15 though, which isn’t too bad considering the level of competition. White County took a couple big wins over Lumpkin and Stephens.
#5 RABUN CO WILDCATS
RECORD: 1-0
PREVIOUS RANKING: #6
Hard to really say, but a 4-2 win to open the year over Stephens County looks good on Rabun.

#6 LUMPKIN CO INDIANS
RECORD: 2-4
PREVIOUS RANKING: #2
Yes, we know that Lumpkin lost to Banks (1-6), but the defense has been fairly good (12 goals; 2/game avg), while the offense has struggled with just 8 total goals.
#7 DAWSON CO TIGERS
RECORD: 0-3
PREVIOUS RANKING: #4
Yes, the Tigers are 0-3 for the first time in ages, but Dawson played Forsyth Central and powerhouse Gainesville, both legit title contenders. Scoring only one goal is worrisome, but giving up 8 in total to those two plus Creekview is better than most teams will do. For now, Dawson sits here.

#8 STEPHENS CO INDIANS
RECORD: 1-5
PREVIOUS RANKING: #9
The Indians are 1-5 overall and 0-1 in region play. 30 goals against is really hard to stomach, but 11 goals for the offense shows some light. This rundown is weird because of the Banks County dynamic in beating Lumpkin, but falling to Stephens, Union, and Commerce.
#9 BANKS CO LEOPARDS
RECORD: 1-6
PREVIOUS RANKING: #7
Again, the placement is odd because the Leopards beat Lumpkin, which was huge. But then they fell to Stephens and brand-new Commerce, as well as region rivals Union. The offense must get going, with only 6 goals so far in 7 games. The defense has also been porous, allowing 21 goals.

#10 COMMERCE TIGERS
RECORD: 1-2
PREVIOUS RANKING: N/A
The Tigers got their first-ever win over neighboring Banks, and have 4 goals in 3 games. Allowing 14 goals however…not ideal.
#11: TOWNS CO INDIANS
RECORD: 0-2
PREVIOUS RANKING: #10
The Indians have allowed 7 goals across two games, and scored twice. Both sides need to improve before long.
