The Tigers weathered a wild third quarter and came out of Gainesville with a big 86-74 region win over a hot-shooting Vikings on Tuesday night.

Jasper Gibson paced the #3-ranked Tigers (15-3; 5-1 in 7-AAA) with 30 points, six assists, and five rebounds. Campbell Reed chipped in with 17, most coming off 3-pointers, while Ahmad Kamara (16 points, 10 rebounds) and Luke Chism (13 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists) both tallied double-doubles.

Dawson took an early 22-14 lead after one quarter, and both teams traded buckets throughout the second, with the host East Hall Vikings (9-8; 4-1) trailing 44-34 at the break. However, the Vikings got hot from outside, and stormed back with a 28-point third quarter to Dawson’s 17.

Twice the Vikings took a lead in the fourth, but the Tigers responded each time, and slipped away in the final three minutes.
