After the first flurry of games in 2018, we present our early December Power Rankings for Boys Basketball.

#1 DAWSON COUNTY TIGERS
RECORD: 4-1
PREVIOUS RANKING: #1
The Tigers have been red-hot as expected to open the season. They are state ranked #4 in Class 3A, and have one of the most solid starting five in Georgia. The lone blemish as a loss to Cumberland Christian Academy. The rest of the games were landslide wins.

#2 BANKS COUNTY LEOPARDS
RECORD: 3-3
PREVIOUS RANKING: #2
The Leopards lose no ground in our Power Rankings here. Carl Cleveland has been as good as ever, and other young players are getting better daily. Early wins over Stephens County prove to be impressive statement games. Cleveland dropped 45 in that victory.
#3 STEPHENS COUNTY INDIANS
RECORD: 4-2
PREVIOUS RANKING: #4
The Indians’ loss to Banks keeps them from being #2, but so far it’s been a great start for a group led by Ty Nails. Big wins include Rabun County, Franklin County, Jackson County, and Loganville

#4 UNION COUNTY PANTHERS
RECORD: 2-1
PREVIOUS RANKING: #5
Movement upward for Union County after a solid beginning, including a big win over arch-rivals Towns County.
#5 JEFFERSON DRAGONS
RECORD: 2-3
PREVIOUS RANKING: #3
The Dragons drop a couple of slots here after a bit of a bumpy start. They have earned wins over Habersham Central and George Walton, and two of their losses have been close ones.

#6 TALLULAH FALLS INDIANS
RECORD: 2-4
PREVIOUS RANKING: #7
It’s a small slide up, but that’s positive for Tallulah Falls. The most impressive win might be the one over White County.
#7 WHITE COUNTY WARRIORS
RECORD: 2-4
PREVIOUS RANKING: #6
The Warriors go down a notch under Tallulah Falls, but have won a couple, including a good one over Lumpkin County.
#8 LUMPKIN COUNTY INDIANS
RECORD: 2-5
PREVIOUS RANKING: #11
A leap for the Indians from 11 to 8 in the Power Rankings, which includes a big win over Towns County.

#9 TOWNS COUNTY INDIANS
RECORD: 2-2
PREVIOUS RANKING: #10
Towns slides up to #9, but losses to Lumpkin and Union hurt. However, the wins have matched the loss total.
#10 COMMERCE TIGERS
RECORD: 1-2
PREVIOUS RANKING: #12
The Tigers jumped a couple spots to #10 with a single victory.
#11 HABERSHAM CENTRAL RAIDERS
RECORD: 1-6
PREVIOUS RANKING: #8
The Raiders fall three spots. Keep in mind though, through seven games, Habersham playing in the highest classification among our local programs means the competition is often, though not always, more proficient.
#12 RABUN COUNTY WILDCATS
RECORD: 0-2
PREVIOUS RANKING: #9
The Wildcats need a win to start moving up here.
