
Austin Jones and Tre Luttrell have been racking in the awards all season long, and the seniors, after coming up with legendary performances in their respective second-round playoff games, more than earned this week’s honors.
Rabun County’s Jones won the Fan Vote once again with 5,271 total votes out of the 10,427. Habersham’s Luke Wilson (4,530) was second in vote-getting. Luttrell was the BLITZ pick for Player of the Week.
AUSTIN JONES

Jones earned his BLITZ-record ninth career Player of the Week award, tying former Rabun great Bailey Fisher. It was Jones’ fifth such award this season. In the Wildcats’ 34-0 win over Chattooga, the do-it-all athlete had maybe his greatest game on the defensive side of the ball he’s ever had, collecting 21 tackles. He also caught six passes for 132 yards and a touchdown. He also had 25 punt return yards.

TRE LUTTRELL

Luttrell put up a career-high 431 passing yards in Habersham’s marathon loss at Creekview in the second round of state. Luttrell had three passing touchdowns, and 57 rushing yards and another TD, while adding three tackles.
The award is the third of 2018 for Luttrell, who finished the 2018 season as one of the top dual threats in the state.
