The amazing career of Frankie Muldoon has reached new heights, as the senior pulled off the rare feat of four region titles in cross country. She won Thursday’s 7-AAA meet with a time that was a full one and a half minutes ahead of the next place runner.
Muldoon’s 18:22 time averaged out to a 5:55 mile pace. Lumpkin County junior Abbie Hilchie (20:26) came in fifth place, as Lady Indians sophomore teammate Caroline Rairigh was 8th with a 20:50.
Dawson’s Jenna Lecours also placed in the top ten (9th place) with a 20:58 time.
North Hall won the girls meet by a long shot, with Dawson coming in second and Lumpkin third. Both Dawson and Lumpkin will advance to state.
For the boys, it was Ben McGinnis’ third-place (16:05) finish that propelled the Tigers to a runner-up finish. Teammate Cody Wood (16:14) was fourth overall, Wiley Dennis (16:38) was sixth and William Mulberry (16:52) was 9th.
Lumpkin (6th overall) was paced by Esteban Ramirez (27th, 18:09).
