Mackenzie Callas entered her sophomore season with 15 games played to her credit and just a single goal. That’s still not bad for a freshman in 2017. But in 2018, Callas has emerged as a team leader for Brenau.
The midfielder has two goals and team-best four assists at the close of September, giving her eight points on the season.
Callas was a standout for the late Jed Lacey at Dawson County (class of 2017), helping the Lady Tigers soccer program continue its impressive streak of state playoff appearances.
To date, Callas has taken some 37 shots, with 19 of those on target (shots on goal).
Through just eight games this season, Callas has taken 15 shots, with many more to assuredly come.
Fun Fact: Callas plays with senior goalkeeper and former Dawson teammate Anela Melton, and last season played with former teammate Taylor Bennett (Class of 2015).
