White County has had its best season in school history. The young volleyball program is only in year four, so there’s not much of a sample size, but the 13-7 record has already eclipsed the previous win total of the 10-win 2016 team. Last season’s win total for the Lady Warriors was eight.
The bigger deal this year is the 3-1 record within region play. With wins over Denmark, West Hall and Chestatee, the girls are in a good position to make the postseason, despite a loss to Flowery Branch. The Lady Warriors haven’t made the state playoffs in the three prior years, but that appears to be a thing of the past.

Senior leader Annabeth “AB” Vandiver is a large reason why this team has had much success in 2018. The outside hitter has 117 kills and 96 digs in total in 2018. That averages out to 11 kills per match and 9 digs per match.
Vandiver’s solid season earns her a BLITZ Player of the Week award, as Shannon Smith’s girls look to continue their winning ways as the season draws to a close.
