With too many good choices, sometimes you can’t just pick one. This week’s softball Player of the Week honors goes to a trio of local talent, including a pair of standout freshmen.
White County’s Reagan Dunagan, Commerce’s Grace Hobbs and Banks County’s Tybee Denton all have enjoyed fantastic seasons to this point, and more notably the last week or so.
TYBEE DENTON

The junior phenom pitcher for the #2-ranked team in the state, Tybee Denton not only has a cool name, but a sub-1.00 ERA over her last two starts.
Denton went 2-0 last week to the tune of a 0.64 ERA, including 28 strikeouts in just 11 innings of work. That’s insane! But wait, there’s more! Denton helped her own cause at the plate, batting .600 with 3 RBI, a run scored and a double.
REAGAN DUNAGAN

Dunagan is new to the scene as a freshman for White County, and she wears a legend’s jersey number in former White County great Jessica Morgan (now at UGA). The pitcher/utility player went 3-0 over her last three starts with a 1.11 ERA.
GRACE HOBBS

Hobbs is another standout freshman in the area, playing at nearby Commerce. She’s taken the Lady Tigers lineup by storm in the way of a .526 batting average this season that includes 3 homers, 13 RBI, 3 doubles and a .964 slugging percentage. Hobbs hit two of her homeruns in one game not too long back.
