The Towns County Indians, on the heels of their first-ever playoff run last season, carried momentum into 2018 with a 55-24 thumping of Hayesville on the road.
The Indians used five total touchdowns by senior QB Trent Bradshaw, who tallied 181 rushing yards and three TD, and passed for 118 yards and two scores. He had four first-half touchdowns, rushing for 42 and 30-yard scores, and both of his passing touchdowns were to Will Travis, one going for 59 yards and the other 10.
The 28-24 halftime lead for the Indians held up, with the defense pitching a second-half shutout. Towns County head coach John Cornett was ejected from the contest in the third quarter as the team was ahead 34-24. By the end of the quarter, Towns held a 48-24 advantage, and scored once more in the final quarter.
