It was just months ago that Jessica Morgan was named BLITZ Player of the Year for the second time, winning as a freshman in 2014 and as a senior in 2017. Having committed to the University of Georgia after her freshman season, the White County alum is already making an impact for the #8-ranked Bulldogs softball team.

Morgan technically is a class of 2018 graduate of White County, but graduated early just after the high school softball season came to a close.
It didn’t take long for Morgan to make noise. In UGA’s opener against San Diego State, Morgan came in to catch in the third inning. In her first at-bat as a college player, she drilled a three-run homerun down the left field line, putting UGA up 23-0 in a 23-2 win.
She tallied her first multi-hit game just days later against Winthrop, going 2-for-3 with a double and RBI. Her second homer came against Charleston, her third against ETSU and her fourth against Alabama on April 27.
For the season, she’s hitting .212 with four homeruns and 21 RBI, adding seven doubles and ten runs scored. She’s committed just one error behind the plate with 121 putouts and eight assists, throwing one runner out trying to steal.
The former White County star hit .490 in her prep career, launching 31 homeruns and driving in 98 RBI. She tallied more than 100 runs scored, 30 stolen bases, 40 doubles and almost 10 triples in her high school career.
