      Yes, but rare. GKs have won multiple times, as has defensive players who also played up some and put up some numbers. The problem is defensive players don’t get numbers, and thus in voting get no love by a panel that stretches across Northeast Georgia because nearly all of them have not seen many of the players. Just one of those things that’s hard to compare a stellar defensive player when you can’t quantify their value. Plenty of defensive players have been nominees and finalists, but rarely win
