A year after disappointing first round losses by both Dawson County teams, the Tigers and Lady Tigers earned redemption with opening round wins in their respective 3A State Tournaments.

The Tigers (6-7-1) beat East Jackson 4-0 on the road, moving on to play region 6-AAA’s top team, North Murray. For the boys, it was only their second clean sheet of the season.

The Lady Tigers (12-2) eased past Monroe Area 8-1 on Thursday evening, surrendering only their 12th goal of the season. The girls will now take on Westminster on May 1.
