The Lady Panthers golf program won its third straight area championship. Union County fired a 259, 14 strokes ahead of second place Franklin County.

Lady Panthers’ senior Ally Horinek was the area runner-up, carding an 81. Union qualifies for the state tournament for the fifth straight season. Grace Wischmeyer (87) and Megan Rowe (91) finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

Dawson County also notched a state tournament spot with a fifth place finish, shooting 313 as a team. Sydney Morgan’s 86 was good enough to place fourth individually. The team’s clinch of a state tournament spot ensures that for six years in a row (since 2013), Dawson County girls golf will have some representation at the championship.

Also in area 3-3A, Lumpkin County finished 10th as a team with a 387.
