As we hit the home stretch of the 2018 season, our April Power Rankings include a clearer look at where teams stand regarding their postseason chances.

#1 Stephens Co Indians
Previous Rank: #1: No Change
19-6 (5-5 Region 8-AAAA)
An extremely tough region means even as formerly the #3-ranked team in the state, there’s still nothing guaranteed regarding playoffs. PLAYOFFS: Nothing is set, but the Indians stand #3 in the region tied with two other teams. Two left against North Oconee and three against St. Pius. Each game is vital.
#2 Dawson Co Tigers
Previous Rank: #6: ↑ 4 spots
10-13 (6-7 Region 7-AAA)
The Tigers have gone just 5-4 over the last nine, but you have to remember the tough region they play in. They sit fifth. PLAYOFFS: On the cusp. Two against East Hall, three against North Hall are left on the slate. They need to put together 2-3 wins to have a good chance of making the playoffs.
#3 Habersham Central Raiders
Previous Rank: #2: ↓ 1 spot
11-10 (3-7 Region 8-AAAAAA)
The Raiders need to finish strong! PLAYOFFS: Previous statement applies. Two against Lanier, three-game set against Dacula will decide it all. If Habersham can maybe go 3-2 or 4-1, the playoffs are a lock.
#4 Rabun Co Wildcats
Previous Rank: #10: ↑ 6 spots
8-12 (7-3 Region 8-AA)
If you can look past the overall record, this team (as we’ve said since day one) is better than their record. 7-3 in region play gives them a three-way tie for first. PLAYOFFS: Two Social Circle games left in region play; playoffs are certain it appears.
#5 Banks Co Leopards
Previous Rank: #4: ↓ 1 spot
12-12 (6-4 Region 8-AA)
Banks County is playing good enough ball to be ready for the playoffs. PLAYOFFS: Two to play in region against Oglethorpe. One win will make it official.
#6 Commerce Tigers
Previous Rank: #3: ↓ 3 spots
13-11 (4-3 Region 8-A)
The Tigers are a solid team, but drop some games that they should win – as is true for most teams. Sixth in Region 8-A. PLAYOFFS: No one knows for certain until the official Power Ratings appear after the last out, but Commerce should be in the bracket.
#7 Lumpkin Co Indians
Previous Rank: #5: ↓ 2 spots
10-13 (4-11 Region 7-AAA)
The Indians have had a tough go at it this season, despite having a talented group. PLAYOFFS: Outside shot. While not eliminated, they’d need to sweep a three-game set against GAC and have East Hall and/or Dawson lose a handful the rest of the way.
#8 Tallulah Falls Indians
Previous Rank: #8: no change
9-9 (1-5 Region 8-A)
PLAYOFFS: See description for Commerce/Power Ratings. Tallulah Falls needs some wins in a serious way to have a shot.
#9 Union Co Panthers
Previous Rank: #7: ↓ 2 spots
8-16 (1-12 Region 7-AAA)
PLAYOFFS: Eliminated
#10 White Co Warriors
Previous Rank: #9: ↓ 1 spot
7-15 (1-8 Region 7-AAAA)
PLAYOFFS: Believe it or not, at 1-8 in a five-team region, there’s still hope. Chestatee has the #4 spot at 2-8, so if White County can win two (or all three) against a ratcheted Marist team, they could sneak up and take the #3 or #4 spot and get in.
#11 Towns Co Indians
Previous Rank: #11: No Change
1-15 (0-6 Region 8-A)
PLAYOFFS: Nope
