Ben McGinnis, a Dawson County sophomore long distance standout for the cross country and track & field team, earned the majority of the fan votes to be the BLITZ Player of the Week.

McGinnis earned 846 votes, a significant edge over the next closest of the players up for the award, teammate Frankie Muldoon (199 votes).

On March 17, McGinnis finished a meager 10th in the 800-meter, finishing in 2:07. However, he owned the 1600-meter, taking the top spot in 4:40 at the GACS Invitational in Norcross. According to Ga Milesplit, the two times were his personal bests.
