To the quarterfinals it is for the Banks County Lady Leopards and Rabun County Lady Wildcats, who both punched a ticket to the Elite 8 landslide wins in their respective Wednesday games.

#1 Banks Co Lady Leopards 70, #2 KIPP 28

The Lady Leopards (25-5) had a blowout 70-28 win over visiting KIPP. It wasn’t even close. Banks led early and pulled away before the break thanks to 11 straight points and a 19-4 run overall to go up 43-14.

That second quarter saw the Lady Leopards outscore the visitors 29-4. A 57-20 lead after three quarters put a bow on the box, with the final eight minutes seeing Banks County score another 13 points to KIPP’s eight.

Allison Smith nearly outscored KIPP on her own with a game-high 27 points. Maddie Thomas added 17 points, while Jaycie Bowen had 6 points and 6 rebounds, and Amber Williams had 4 points. Smith drilled four 3-pointers and four steals. Thomas also had five steals. Lauren Shedd had a fantastic game with 10 assists as well.

The Lady Leopards move on to face Laney, who won 76-60 over Swainsboro.

#3 Rabun Co Lady Wildcats 63, #1 Lamar Co 43

The Lady Wildcats (24-6) advanced to their third consecutive state quarterfinals with a huge 63-43 win over #1-seed Lamar County. The Lady Cats used another huge night by junior guard Georgia Stockton, who tallied 22 points, 9 rebounds and 6 steals. Jaden Quilliams had 7 points, 17 rebounds (8 offensive) and 4 blocks, while Laken Stiles put up 7 points, 10 boards, 4 assists and 4 steals. Kaitlin Coleman also notched 14 points for Rabun.

The Lady Cats move on to the Elite 8 to take on Fitzgerald, who escaped with a 68-65 win over Washington County.
