The Stephens County Indians turn a new chapter in the program’s history, as they move on from legendary coach Frank Barden and three-year starting quarterback Jackson Bell. They’re in good hands, as the Indians bring in Wesley Tankersley (65-44), who has a winning pedigree. He’s coached seven state playoff teams, including six straight now as he comes over from Ridgeland, where he also won back-to-back region titles.
The 2018 schedule contains some intriguing rival games out of region, including a scrimmage at White County, and early-season games at Hart County and at Rabun County, as well as a heated rivalry game at home against Habersham Central.
