The Rabun County Wildcats have turned the page to 2018, revealing their stacked schedule, highlighted by an opening game at the Erk Russell Classic at Georgia Southern against Bremen.
The Cats are coming off their best season in school history, going 14-1 on the way to the State Championship game on the home field. Rabun went a perfect 10-0 in the regular season (2nd straight regular season without a blemish) and a fourth consecutive region title.
Also intriguing is the final regular season game at home against Union County, the big-time rivals who spent the past two seasons in Region 7-AAA before returning home to 8-AA.

It won’t be easy to replace a talented senior class, especially one that includes one of the top five dual threat quarterbacks in state history in Bailey Fisher, who went 36-4 as a starter in three seasons. He finished his career with over 12,000 yards of offense and 170 total touchdowns.
Coach Lee Shaw has taken his alma mater to unprecedented success since arriving in 2012. The Wildcats have gone 59-15 (.797 win%) in that span, making the playoffs every single season. Rabun has advanced to the Quarterfinals or deeper in each of the past three seasons, including the 2017 State Title game run. Prior to 2012, Rabun County had only made it to the state playoffs two other times in school history. Shaw stands at 152 career wins.
