Under head coach Sid Maxwell, the Dawson County program has reached unprecedented heights, making the state playoffs three years in a row, racking up a 24-11 record. In 2015, Dawson won its first region title in school history and then advanced to the 3A Quarterfinals for the first time ever.
2018 won’t be easy, as Maxwell and the Tigers will have to replace a four-year starter at quarterback in Coey Watson, who demolished every school record at the position. He became one of the top QBs in state history with over 100 total touchdowns and more than 6,000 passing yards to go with over 2,000 on the ground.
The Tigers will return much of a solid defense and some skill players like RB Sevaughn Clark and WR Ryan Glass.
