The final week of the regular season: it presents emotion, joy, pain and everything in between. For the 2017 Rabun County Wildcats (9-0; 5-0), it presents a chance at a second consecutive undefeated regular season. However, a win for the #3-ranked Cats will also be the first 10-0 undefeated season should they take care of Monticello (2-7; 2-3).
The Wildcats already secured their fourth straight region title last week with a blowout win over Oglethorpe. Last year, Rabun was leading Mt. Pisgah in its season opener, 21-14, when the game was called for lightning just before halftime. Thus the game didn’t count, and Rabun finished 9-0 in the regular season. This is the chance to do something Rabun County has never done, a perfect 10-0 regular season. This game has some added emotion, as Bailey Fisher, one of the state’s all-time best QBs, plays his final regular season game in Tiger.
Our Prediction: As usual, Bailey Fisher, Austin Jones, Braxton Hicks, Cole Keener and Dawson Henricks just take it to Monticello in a game that’s over at the half.
