Our BLITZ Volleyball Player of the Year nominees were announced early last week, and from that original pool of players, we’ve narrowed them down to our four Player of the Year Finalists.
Ashley Crosby
Tallulah Falls SO MH #23

Stats: 133 kills, 157 digs, 55 blocks, 30 aces, 23 assists
Why she deserves POY: Crosby was named all-area second team in both her freshman and sophomore seasons, and helped guide Tallulah Falls to a 22-12 season that included a state playoff berth and a #6 state ranking.
Sarah Jean Estes
White Co SR S #2

Stats: 480 assists, 108 digs, 52 kills, 29 aces, 4 blocks
Why she deserves POY: Estes finished her high school career with a monster 2017 season at the setter position (480 assists).
Amber Fite
Dawson Co SR OH #19

Stats: 2.5 Aces/game, 91% serving, 4.5 kills/game
Why she deserves POY: In just the program’s second season, Amber Fite helped the Lady Tigers to the state playoffs and 24 wins while excelling in her serving game.
Katerina Shalikashvili
Habersham Central SR OH #10

Stats: 25 aces, 96% serving, 248 kills, 24 blocks, 277 digs
Why she deserves POY: Katerina is an All-Area first team member in 8-AAAAAA. She had a stellar 2017 senior year for the Lady Raiders, lifting them to their second straight state playoff trip.
