Since the 2009-10 school year, the top school in the BLITZ coverage area has been awarded the BLITZ Cup, a trophy that signifies that that school had the best overall year in terms of varsity sports success across the board.
In the past eight years, Rabun County has won the award three times (back-to-back-to-back), Dawson County has won it twice, White County has won it twice, and Habersham Central has taken it once.
The trophy has traditionally gone to that school to sit in their trophy case on display. No longer will that be the case. The new BLITZ Cup trophy is larger than a GHSA State Championship trophy and has been crafted by Bob & Ted’s Trophy.
The new BLITZ Cup has an engraved placard on the side of the trophy with the yearly winners of the Cup. Moving forward, the winner will have their name etched on the side and presented to that school to keep for one year.

The BLITZ Cup is now a moving trophy, which allows schools to have bragging rights to be the home of the BLITZ Cup for one year until the next champion is named. The BLITZ Cup will be presented to the Athletic Director and Principal of the winning school.
