Wrestler of the Year Nominees announced
With the conclusion of the 2018-19 mat season, we reveal our BLITZ Wrestler of the Year nominees. We took at least one per program, and placed many just-as-deserving on the Honorable Mention list.
From this prestigious group, we will soon narrow down to a small finalist pool that will be voted on by an internal panel to determine our Wrestler of the Year. We are guaranteed a new winner this year as last year’s winner, Chase Forrester, graduated from Commerce and went on to the next level.

Thanks for asking. For Players of the Year, we don’t leave that up to public voting because it can become a popularity contest. We have a voting panel made of sports producers, former coaches and players and GHSA officials who vote Heisman style to determine the winner. Hope this helps!
